Financial Aid Information

 
 
Seniors attending a Community College or any four-year Institution (CSU, UC, Private, Out of State) who want to be eligible for financial aid, must apply for FAFSA (if you have a Social Security Number) or California Dream Application (If you do not have a Social Security Number) during the months of October through March 2nd.

Important Information for AB 540 Students
AB 540 students are students who: 
  • Attend a California school for at least 3 years.
  • Graduate from a California high school or obtain GED.
  • Attend a California college or university
  • Complete an affidavit to legalize immigration status as soon as the student is eligible.
 
AB 540 students may also be considered as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students.
Although a Social Security Number has been issued, it is only for work purposes. You cannot use the DACA SSN for College Applications or Financial Aid Applications.
 
AB 540 students will apply to the California Dream Act Application in order to be considered for financial aid. AB 540 students DO NOT submit the FAFSA as they are not eligible for federal financial aid. AB 540 Students are only eligible for State Aid (such as the CAL Grant).
 
Important Information for AB 540 Students
 
Males 18-25 must register with Selective Service to be eligible for Cal Grant and other state aid. Obtain a registration form at the U.S. Post Office or you can click HERE for the form to complete.  Make sure you follow the directions on how to fill out the form.  Once you complete the form you need to mail it ASAP.
